Brahmachari Wadi Trust
The birth and the history of this trust is interesting. In Gujarat, during the end of Muslim Emperors’ period, a member of royal family was suffering from an incurable disease and the Brahmchari Ramanad or his teacher Lakshmananand could cure this disease. As a reward for this service, a piece of land was give to Brhamchari at the place that is now known as the area of Bhadra. Thus, Brahamchari was existed. In addition to this, near Victoria Garden, Brahchari also received the second piece of land. At present, the trust runs the administration of Panchnath Mahadev Mandir, which is situated at that place. In 1893, the administration of Brahmchari Vadi Trust was entrusted to Gujart Vidyasabha according to the verdict of 1892. Ra. Ra. Revashankar Ambaram Bhatt was appointed as a trustee. In this Vadi, Honourable Ramkrushna Gopal Bhandarkar unveiled a Sanskrit Library on 18th December, 1907. There were many books on Hindu Dharma, Philosophy and Crafts in this library.
According to the order of Assistant Judge of Ahmedabad District Court given on 18th June, 1935, it was named as ‘Brahmchari Trust Fund’- Ahmedabad. From June, 1922 an institution as ‘Brahamchari Acharyakul’ was started. Shree Ganesh Vasudev Mavlankar was appointed as the president of Brahamchari Vadi Committee.
Brahmcharivadi Sanskrit Pathshala was established according to the advice and direction of Acharyashri Anandshankar Dhruva and on 12th August, 1937 it was opened by Shree Pramathnath Tarkbhooshan, the head of Kashi Vishvavidhyalaya Parachin Vibhag.
The Education system was arranged in Pathshala according to our ancient system. Practically its aim was to have solid and extensive study and spread our ancient culture, literature, history and Sanskrit knowledge.
