‘Sau. Laxmibai Stri Pustakalaya’ was managed by the Society. Women were given books to read from that library and there were numbers of big trust funds to give prizes and scholarships to girls. Society had made a sub-committee to make practical plan for providing useful reading suitable to the women of that era. With the recommendation of the sub-committee, it was decided to publish a book named ‘Mahila Mitra’. Two leading ladies, Vidhyabahen and Smt. Shardabahen Sumant Mehta were assigned to edit that book. Thus, the women had been trained for playing a role of freedom fighter in the struggle for freedom.
