H K Arts College
Brahmcharivadi Trust committee resolved on 6th June, 1954 to begin a college in the memory of Ramanand Maharaj with the name ‘Ramanand MahaVidhhyalaya. Gujarati, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Parsian, Indian Ancient Culture, Economics, Politics, Civics, Maths, Logic are acknowledged to teach in this college. Prof. Yashvant Shukla was appointed as a principal of this college. The work of this college started in Shantisadan situated on Mirzapur Road. (20/06/1955)
Shree Brahmcharivadi Trust changed the name of Shree Ramanand Mahavidhyalaya as a constituent institute of Ramanand Vidhyavibhag accepting the donation with condition from Shree Harivallabhdas Kalidas Charity Trust and named it as ‘Shree Harivallabdas Kalidas Arts College’ which was accepted by Gujarat University and State Government.
On 5th October, 1959 the building of this college was inaugurated with a great cremony by the then Vice President of India and a well-known Philosopher Dr. Radhakrishnan.
Some senior professors and postgraduate professors were recognized as the guide for Ph. D. students. This college was established for getting Gujarati Medium successfully.
In this college activities regarding drama was inspired. Gujarat Vidhyasabha was the first to begin curriculum for journalism in whole Gujarat.
Shree Yashvantbhai could make the new established college a dignified college in a short period. It was due to his hard work. He was a good orator and successful professor.
Besides this, Prof. Nagindas Parekh, Dr. Madhusudan Parekh, Dr. Chinubhai Nayak had also given their services to this college. At present, Principal Shree Subhasbhai Brahambhat is trying to make this college the best college in entire Gujarat.
